“Personal best” means different things to different people. It can represent work the artist believes has advanced and evolved to a sort of crescendo. But “personal best” is transitory; it is a marker along a journey during which we soon discover we haven’t achieved our personal best…yet. Each photographer made a choice from thousands and thousands of images, to embody the concept of their personal best at this moment.
In this exhibition, the artist decides which of their photographs will show, rather than a jury, curator, or gallerist making the selection. Join Alverno and CoPA, along with moderator Pam Ferderbar who will speak with photographers Cindy Hansen, Ron Wimmer and Scott Beaver about their process for self-editing their work, what growth means in terms of their practice, and much more. This discussion will take place in the gallery at 4:30 pm on Friday February 10th.
