Rotating Exhibition | January 4 to March 29, 2025
Ronald McDonald House | 8948 W Watertown Plank Rd. Wauwatosa, WI 53226
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
―
CoPA has been offered a fantastic opportunity to exhibit our work at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa, on an ongoing basis. If you’re not familiar with Ronald McDonald House, this charitable organization provides families a place to stay while their children are receiving treatment across the street at Children’s Hospital. These accommodations can be temporary or longer-term; from private rooms to mini-suites for longer-term families.
Multiple wings of rooms and suites, family-style kitchens, gathering areas, “secret” gardens, and other community spaces provide welcome and comfort to guests. There is ample wall space, and the current director is connecting with local artists to adorn them with engaging local art.
CoPA has been invited to provide images for these spaces rotating on a quarterly (every 3 months) basis. Members are invited to submit work via the Call for Entries form, submissions will be reviewed with the Ronald McDonald House director, and artists notified of acceptance.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | Saturday, January 4, 2024:

We would prefer that pieces be delivered on installation day, however, they may be dropped off at the front desk the day before. Please keep in mind that there is limited space for storing images, so please be prompt in-person or by proxy in terms of delivery and pick-up. Thank you!

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
Ronald McDonald House | 8948 W Watertown Plank Rd, Wauwatosa, WI 53226
Artists are responsible for the delivery of artwork to the Ronald McDonald House on installation day, and for collecting artwork from the Ronald McDonald House (in-person or by proxy) on the following installation day.
CoPA and Ronald McDonald House are not responsible for damage or theft of artwork while in transit. Work will be inspected at the time of check-in.
All works are to be delivered to RMH by 11A on installation day. RMH has limited space for storing delivered work for exhibition, and CoPA is not the only organization participating; with that in mind, please deliver on installation day if you can swing it, if not, please deliver the Friday before installation day. If you require additional accommodations, please coordinate with another CoPA member to drop your work off, or notify us via email at [email protected] to coordinate with us. Your extra effort is greatly appreciated.
Delivery Hours: Friday, 9A to 6P | Saturday, 9A to 11A – please be courteous and conscientious of the volunteers at the front desk accepting your artwork.
Pick-up from the previous showing will be during this same time frame.
SALES
Artists are encouraged but not required to offer their work for sale. Some pieces previously shown there have been purchased by guests, volunteers, staff, and donors (either for their collection or for RMH’s).
- All sales are conducted directly through the photographer and the purchaser.
- The Ronald McDonald House does not take a commission on sales.
- If a direct purchase is made by Ronald McDonald House, they have historically covered the cost of materials, and artists award their commission as a (tax-deductible) donation.
FRAMING GUIDELINES FOR ARTWORK EXHIBITED
All artwork submitted for exhibition shall adhere to the following framing guidelines. Failure to do so may impact participation in the exhibition. Be mindful that this gallery is an open space that serves families and children; please make your framing and mounting selections appropriately.
- Glass or Plexiglas is preferable if the artwork is framed. The product should be of sufficient thickness to prevent visible warping or waving. If the glass is broken upon arrival, new glass will be fitted and the artist billed for the cost of the glass.
- All framed works shall be securely fitted within their frames
- All mats are to be clean and white
- No plastic poster frames
- All framed works are to be wired for hanging.
- No saw-tooth hangers
- No unwired D-Rings
- No clips
- No fishing line
- Hanging wires are to be no closer than 2” to the top of the frame when pulled taut.
- Wires are not to be attached to the clips that are holding the back of the frame together but should have their own support attached to the frame and not the picture backing. Taping or gluing the wire to the frame or board is insufficient.
- CoPA and RMH are not responsible for pieces that are damaged due to improper hanging hardware or poor craftsmanship.
- If framed, images, frames and mats must be clean and dirt/dust/smudge free. No exceptions. You may print professionally on other surfaces, such as aluminum, canvas, linens, and wood.
