Bill Lemke
Bill has recently released a book, Aging Gratefully, a collection of portraits of deadheads, done on large-format cameras. He started taking formal portraits of Deadheads in the parking lots of Midwest concert venues in the 80’s and 90’s. Around 2015, with the help of social media and word of mouth, he started finding and re-photographing them. In addition, Bill will share other work from his portfolio, including landscapes and flora made on large- and medium-format cameras.
Bill’s artistic process is labor intensive; he meticulously hand-processes each sheet and roll of film to produce negatives that are then transformed into images through the delicate art of enlarging. He finds beauty and authenticity in relying on traditional hand tools to enhance the prints, where highlights and shadows emerge through careful craftsmanship on silver gelatin paper.

Schmooze and Photo Reviews
Beginning at 5:30, and going until the meeting starts at 6:30, we will continue to host photo reviews in small groups. Anyone who wishes to participate is encouraged to bring three to five photos to share and discuss. Tablets or laptops are best but prints work too. Join when you arrive, the earlier the better, and enjoy some food and drink at the same time!
