A Visual Voice – Exploring the World Through Documentary Photography and Art with John Hart
For more than 30 years, John Hart’s photography has been guided by an intent to create honest, engaging and insightful records of singular moments in time. Emanent from an inborn sense of wonder, his hope to generate images that resonate with a broad audience of viewers, reflecting a belief in basic commonalities and aspirations of the human experience. An established photojournalist who has been recognized nationally for his editorial career, Hart also continues to forward a body of personal work that offers a quieter, more intimate reflection on the world around us.
A staff photographer with the Wisconsin State Journal newspaper in Madison, Wisconsin, John Hart’s editorial images have appeared in a wide variety of media outlets, and his art photography has been included in juried exhibits at the Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Charles Wustum Museum of Fine Art in Racine, Wisconsin, and the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado.

- National Press Photographers Association Central Region Photographer of the Year – 2022, 2015, 2014, 2013
- Wisconsin News Photographers Association Photographer of the Year 2015-14, 2011
- 2012 Pulitzer Prize Finalist Team Member – Award presented to the Wisconsin State Journal for Breaking News Coverage

CoPA Short Program: How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Our brief summer break is over and we’d like to restart our Monthly Member Meeting by sharing memories of summer. CoPA members will be invited to submit recent photographs on the theme of summer vacation. Prior to our main speaker, we will view the slide show and enjoy what is sure to be a diverse collection of experiences and art!
