Tom Jenz was born and raised in Wisconsin but he spent his career in Minneapolis and Los Angeles as a writer and producer of corporate films, documentaries, and TV cable network programs. He now lives in the western Milwaukee area.
But his first love has always been location photography. For over 30 years, he’s been photographing vanishing America … small town and rural life across the midwest and west. Tom’s book, FORGOTTEN AMERICA, is used as a teaching tool at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography. His fine arts prints are represented by the Woodwalk Gallery in Door County. His photographs and written narratives have appeared in numerous print and online outlets.
For the last six years, Tom’s been photographing another side of vanishing America… the inner city urban scene. His focus has been Milwaukee and its hardcore central city problems and challenges. This is a troubling and unique project, and he calls it …. EXPERIENCING THE INNER CITY. These images can be viewed at TomJenzAmerica.com
