In order to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus CoPA and our partners at The Warehouse are postponing the I Witness exhibition. CoPA is also postponing the April 14th meeting, which we had hoped to host at The Warehouse. We do not know when we will reschedule further CoPA meetings, exhibitions and receptions, but we will share information as it is made available.

If you have work at NO Studio's from the BEAUTY exhibition, please stand by for updates on pick up times and dates. You will receive an email alert from CoPA and we will post on the website as soon as details become available.

Please become members of CoPA's member's only private Facebook page so that you can continue to share work, give feedback and stay connected to fellow photographers during this time of social distancing. If you are chronicling this unique and frightening time in our history, be sure to share your images on Insta, Facebook and Twitter by using #copamilwaukee. If you are out and about, please follow all social distancing guidelines so as to minimize exposure to the virus and its spread.

Join your CoPA friends, 5:30p at @transfermke, for a fascinating meeting featuring speaker John Sobczak, gallery director at The Alice Wilds. John will talk about what galleries look for when talking to artists about possible representation, how artists can prepare to show their work to galleries and other topics of interest to photographers.

Join us at 5:30 if you want to grab a drink and mingle with fellow photographers. Feel free to bring prints or work on a tablet if you wish to get feedback, need a little help with a creative problem or would simply like to show what you’ve been working on. At 6:15 we will launch our new series: Member Spotlight where one or two members will show their work and answer five questions about their process, inspiration and experience. Updates and announcements will follow and the speaker will begin at 6:45. (If you would like to participate in the Member Spotlight please email us at info@copamilwaukee.com.)

Also new this month we will be raffling and/or selling books from Tom Ferderbar’s extensive photography and art book collection. Tom is donating the books so that all proceeds go to CoPA.

#DroppinGems & LIT Power Hour is a quarterly event at NO Studios gathering creatives from across the city of Milwaukee. LIT presents #DroppinGems, for this month is about celebrating black and brown WOMXN creatives, and all are welcome. We are pleased to have Driely S. @drielycarter who has photographed for Beyonce, Pharrell, Vince Staples, Billie Eilish, Rico Nasty, AfroPunk, Gucci, Prada, Pyer Moss and more! Along with her we will have DJ King Marie @kingmarie who has DJ'd for NIKE, Jordan, Puma, NBA All Start events and many more. These creatives will also be paired up with local talents that are also on the same career trajectory, for instance Emily Kuester! @emily.kueste Emily, is director and editor, with films in SXSW, Milwaukee Film, and more, with video series like Black Girl Training. We look to bridge the gap with a panel discussion that dives into the blueprint of breaking through, and the cautions of being a black and brown women in the industry. This panel discussion will be moderated by Cree Myles @creemyles The LIT Power Hour After party will be at the rooftop of NO Studios with performances from REYNA, @reynatheband and Auti Marie @autimarie414 , and DJing @djingstudios and Emcee from DJ Lolo @djlolo_mke with FREE Food and alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. .
