Local photographer to show work at Spectrum
RACINE — “Paris & Bruges — Texture & Pattern,” a one-person show featuring the photographs of Bill Girdzius of Caledonia, will open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Spectrum School of the Arts and Community Gallery, located in the east Building of the DeKoven Center, 600 21st St.
The digital photographs showcase the unique details, colors and styles of cities from Girdzius’ travels to France and Belgium in 2009.
Girdzius, originally from the Chicago area, is a professional photographer specializing in portraiture, special events and fine art photography. As an artist in Spectrum Gallery, he has conducted photography workshops specializing in lighting techniques with people as well as still life. Girdzius is a member of the Coalition of Photographic Artists in Milwaukee, and has exhibited in various shows in the Milwaukee and Racine areas. He was a Downtown Racine Corp. community art participant in 2015.
The exhibit runs through May 9. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and boy appointment. Call 262-634-4345.
