Retired CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and previously CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation. Photo exhibition at Alverno College in September, 2011, with Frank Miller called "Solace and Solitude."
I seek to capture the sense of awe I feel when I witness a thunderstorm in the mountains, fresh fallen snow, the profusion of wildflowers that appear in high meadows during the short summers and the high turquoise-colored mountain lakes, called cirques. These place of rare beauty renew my spirit and clear my mind. As Annie Leibovitz notes, "Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy -- your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself." Recently I have expanded my photographic vision to Cameroon, Africa, where I seek to capture the beauty of the interplay of culture, traditions and people.
