Altered Views: Photographic Exhibition

Wisconsin based photographer, Vicki Reed captures her photographs with vintage, pinhole and toy cameras as well as with camera-less techniques and often uses alternative photographic processes to create her final images. Cyanotype, lith, infrared, hand-colored, encaustic (wax) and lumen prints are included in this exhibit.

This exhibition features 70 images from The Museum Set, a rare portfolio of photographs hand-printed by the artist and considered by him to be the best of his life's work. On view now through January 8 at the Lake County Discovery Museum.

CoPA member Suzanne Garr was recently accepted into Minneapolis Photo Center juried exhibition The Portrait: Up Close and Personal. The exhibition opens with a reception on June 22nd, and runs through August 19th.

CoPA member and former Board Secretary and Development Co-chair, Suzanne Garr was recently accepted in a Minneapolis Photo Center juried exhibition. The call for entries for The Portrait: Up Close and Personal resulted in the submission of more than 1,600 images from around the world, 75 of which will be exhibited at the Minneapolis Photo Center. The exhibition opens June 22nd, and runs through August 19, 2012.

CoPA member Paul Matzner's photograph “Wild Hair Day” was chosen
 for Off the Cuff: The Spontaneous and Unrehearsed, a juried exhibition at the Minneapolis Photo Center.

On display through February 26, Off the Cuff features images by 70 photographers from across the U.S. that demonstrate the complex and varied roles photography employs as a witness and an accomplice in seeing the world. Relating to both the genres of street photography and performance art, these images may collectively portray chance encounters, improvisations, decisive moments in the height of action, and documents of occurrences. Without premeditation, the photographer captures what arises – acting as the mediator between the photograph and events as they unfold
