MAM Artist Marketplace

A Success from Sunshine
to Sold Work!

Nine CoPA artists participated and exhibited in Milwaukee Art Museum’s 4th Annual Artist Marketplace, July 26. It was a day full of sunshine, a never ending flow of art lovers and sold work. Sue Lukas commented, “I’ve exhibited my photos for many years. Paul and I joked that when I told people I was exhibiting at the MAM, they said oh, cool! Then I told them I was going to be outside, which is as close as we’ll probably ever get.”

The overall feedback from the artists and MAM was that this was another great success as part of the Summer Gallery Night and Day weekend. Scott Patrick commented, “…I thought it was a wonderful event. Large enough for depth and variety, but small enough that the general public could stroll through enjoy it and not be overwhelmed.”

Thanks to MAM and Fran Serlin’s group for organizing this event again this year and all the volunteers that help with it’s success. CoPA is proud to be a member of the greater Milwaukee area arts organizations and be represented at a Milwaukee Art Museum event.

“I recommend this opportunity to everybody…” commented Mark Stall, CoPA participating artist as well as current board member.

The juried selection and process for this event will begin in the February – March, 2009 timeframe, so watch for announcements on the CoPA website. Thanks to all the artists who participated and proudly represented CoPA.

Third Annual CoPA
Members Show - 2008

Robb Quinn’s image of a Tibetan village girl, taken in 2007 on a photo expedition with Steve McCurry, was featured on the exhibit’s promotional postcard.

More than 70 CoPA members exhibited and we showcased half a dozen sponsors.

The Exhibitions Committee, under the eye of wildlife photographer and Co-chair Geri Laehn, along with many enthusiastic volunteers did a great job of setting things up and being there for our many visitors. This year's space featured a more open display which afforded all a great view from which to really appreciate each and every photo.
