Kristen Westlake WorkshopsPO Box 1109 Experience Nature on Aug 23 & 24 with Professional Photographer, Kristen Westlake Aug. 23 - Location: Schuppernong area of the Kettle Moraine (Southern Wisconsin)
She shoots right beside her students, telling them exactly what it is that she is doing with her settings and why. She engages each individual at their level, thus encouraging anyone who has a camera to join in this weekend. There is plenty of opportunity for those who simply wish to develop a better understanding of their point and shoot camera and for serious amateurs who wish to develop their eye and their technical skills. “My students learn from me and from one another in the field. And we have a great time while learning and exploring!” states Kristen. After each photographic session, which will take students to four unique and different locations throughout the weekend, she spends two hours with her students in photo review of their images. Students further develop the skills that they wish to enhance by reviewing what they did in the field just before. She gives honest yet gentle evaluations of individual’s work and shows her own as well, to teach and gain quicker learning curves with her students. Sign up at her website, or call Kristen (262) 374 - 0869 for more information.
Photographers’ Formulary WorkshopsWith a state of the art film-based darkroom, equipped with eight Saunders color head enlargers, and an 8x10 enlarger for those really big negatives, the Photographers’ Formulary offers a first rate venue to produce high quality photographic work. Two additional darkrooms designed and equipped for the alternative processes, combined with large, accessible workspaces, assure maximum opportunity for a successful workshop experience. There is always ample darkroom time in the evenings for students to work. Workshop instructors can supervise evening sessions or there are un-supervised sessions with your lab assistant for those who want to make the most of their time here. The Photographers’ Formulary sits in the middle of 26 acres of Montana’s Swan Valley, surrounded by mountains to the east and to the west, and along the shores of seven glacial lakes. The Bob Marshall Wilderness, the largest wilderness area on the continent of North America, lies just across the highway on the western slopes of the Rockies and climbs to the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Brilliant sunrises and golden sunsets add to the beauty of our unique location, and help make it a photographer’s land of opportunity. To the west, across pasturelands next door, the Mission Mountain Wilderness stretches into the distance. |
